PRODUCT INFO

These terrines are from original blueprints discovered in La Manufacture’s archives. In 1413, the adjective terrin, ‘land’ gave name to this wonderful object. The terrine was defined as an ‘earthenware container, sufficiently deep and provided with a lid in which you cook and preserve certain meats’. Terrines are ideal to cook and serve pâté recipes, many of which date back to the Middle Ages. In the 16th Century the most fashionable patés were cockerel, golden beak woodcock, chicken, duck and venison. Because our stoneware is fired at a very high temperature, it is completely vitrified and particularly non-porous. This allows for cooking without transmitting any humidity and odors.

HOW TO USE

Manufacture de Digoin products are dish-washer and microwave safe. They have been designed for use in the oven up to 250°C.

These stoneware products are handcrafted in the workshops of La Manufacture de Digoin in Burgundy. The stoneware paste is made from natural mineral materials sourced in France. Each piece is one-off and can therefore present irregularities which do not alter quality, or resistance.
